A meeting of the Seymour Town Board was held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Town Hall.  Notice was posted at Beaver Creek Reserve, Seymour Town Hall, Township Fire Dept. Station 1- Seymour, Gordy’s County Market and at www.townofseymour.orgunder “Agendas”.

 

Board members present were Doug Kranig, Chair and Sheila Running, Supervisor.  Also present was Miranda Kuhn, Clerk/Treasurer and Kerry Parker, Roads & Buildings Supervisor.

 

Chair Kranig called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Supervisor Running made a motion to approve the May 5th Board Meeting minutes as presented.  Chair Kranig Seconded.  Motion carried 2-0.

 

Kerry Parker, Roads & Buildings Supervisor gave report. Parker indicated that Sam Hankel had started work for the summer. Parker informed the Board about some of the issues happening with the recreational building. Parker will continue to monitor and determine if a filter is necessary.

 

Parker also indicated that road work for 2014 was about to start and that they would be putting stakes out during the week.

 

Parker gave the Board a quote for tree removal on Peterson Avenue. No action was taken.

 

Parker discussed the Aramark rug service contract with the Board.

 

Miranda Kuhn, Clerk/Treasurer, gave financial report for April 2014.

 

GENERAL PUBLIC:

 

A Town resident and school bus driver in the Town of Seymour indicated that the Town of Seymour has issues with dropping students off from a school bus in the Town. The resident suggested fire numbers or a better way to determine where homes are in the Town of Seymour. The resident further indicated that this is not only a fire and emergency hazard but a safety hazard for students.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Supervisor Running made a Motion to approve the contract with Aramark for a $105 fee per service visit for the next 12 months. Chair Kranig Seconded. Motion Carried 2-0.

 

Supervisor Running made a Motion to purchase a 5-row galvanized bleacher for $3,681 from Miracle for the recreational area. Chair Kranig Seconded. Motion Carried 2-0.

The next regular board meeting date is set for Monday, June 9, 2014 at 7:00 PM.

 

Supervisor Running made a Motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 PM.

 

The minutes were taken at the Board Meeting of the Town of Seymour held on the 19th day of May, 2014 and entered this Record Book the 21st day of May 2014.
