The 137th Annual Meeting of the Town of Seymour was held on April 10th, 2012, at the Town Hall. Notice was posted at Beaver Creek Reserve, the Town Hall, Gordy’s County Market, Township Fire Dept. Station 1 - Seymour, Eau Claire Leader Telegram and on the Town’s website www.townofseymour.org
Board members present were Douglas Kranig, Chair; Sheila Running and Gary Schulenberg, Supervisors. Also present was Glenda Lyons, Clerk/Treasurer; and Kerry Parker, Roads and Buildings Supervisor plus 10 residents and 1 guest speaker.
Douglas Kranig called the meeting to order at 7:33 p. m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and a moment of silence was observed.
Douglas Kranig, Chair introduced the Board and staff.
Glenda Lyons, Clerk/Treasurer read the minutes of the last meeting. Jack Running made a Motion to accept the Minutes as presented. Gary Eslinger Seconded. Motion carried.
Fred Howard discussed the water issues on his property. The Town has been working on this.
Roger Koski of Bowmar Appraisal discussed the assessment and reported on market trends. Board of Review will be scheduled in July 2012. He also reported we had 22 market sales at a value of $3 Million. Foreclosures are down. Our last revaluation was in 2006 and Roger stated he thinks the next one will be beyond 2015.
Jan Froelich CPA of Johnson Block and Company, Inc. presented the 2011 Financial Report via DVD.
Fire Chief Jack Running explained the 2011 Annual Fire Department report. Membership is up from 114 to 133. Dan & Tammy Anderson have donated a total of 4 defibulators to Township Fire. DNR may be making some burning regulation changes, however the Town’s ordinance supersedes this. Current level is Very High. We have a new sign in front of Town Hall with the danger level.
Supervisor Schulenberg gave the report on Road repairs for this year. We will be reconstructing 2.5 miles of road this year. 5.0 miles of crack sealing will also be completed. The North parking lot will be paved and stripped. We will also be restriping centerlines and bike lanes on McKinley Rd, Tower Dr and Peterson Ave
Chair Kranig explained the proposed purchase of 113 acres from Douglas and Susan Raether. The Chair asked for a show of hands for all in favor - 8 residents in favor by show of hands. Kerry Parker, town employee, abstained from voting.
Kerry Parker made a Motion to adjourn. Fred Howard Seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:09 p.m.
The Minutes were taken at the Board Meeting of the Town of Seymour held on the 10th day of April, 2012 and entered into this Record Book the 11th day of April, 2012.
