Formation of the Town of Seymour

March 5, 1872

The Eau Claire County Board combined the Towns of Oak Grove and West Eau Claire into the Town of Randall.   The County Board also took the 9 sections in the sections in the northwest corner of T27N, R7W, Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, and 18 in the Town of Lincoln and added them to the Town of North Eau Claire and changed the name of this town to the TOWN OF SEYMOUR.

“Core Values and Beliefs”

  • We respect the individual, and believe that individuals who are treated fairly and with respect will respond by giving their best effort.
  • We make commitments with care, and then live up to them.  Keep your promises.
  • We believe that complete honesty and integrity are vital in everything that we do.
  • Work is an important part of life and it should be fun.
  • We believe in the Golden Rule.  Not he who has the gold makes the rules, but Do Unto Others…In our dealings we will strive to be friendly and courteous, as well as fair and compassionate.
  • We insist on giving our best effort in everything we undertake.  We recognize a huge difference between “good mistakes” (best effort, unsatisfactory result) and “bad mistakes” (sloppiness or lack of effort).
  • We are frugal.  We guard and conserve the Town’s resources with at least the same vigilance that we would use to guard and conserve our own personal resources.
  • We feel a sense of urgency on any matter related to our customers/residents.  We take ownership of the problems and we are responsive.  We are customer driven!
  • We encourage life-long learning and intellectual curiosity.
